The 2023 KOICA IBS Support Program was held on June 8 (Thursday) at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises in Yeouido.

After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the briefing was attended by more than 350 people from 72 companies. Not only did KOICA significantly increase the budget for this year's project by more than 40%, but the number of countries eligible for IBS support has also been added to 26, so you could feel the enthusiasm just by looking at the atmosphere at the briefing session.

The IBS support project of bontech.co is a total of KRW 1 billion in support for two years. The core content of the proposal is to improve medical access through mobile diagnosis activities for local residents in connection with the launch of portable X-ray medical devices in the ILUCOS province in the northwestern Philippines, and to provide technical training to create jobs for prospective JV employees through the establishment of a local diagnostic support center.

Following the business process, two of the seven successful companies presented their success stories. This was followed by a live Q&A session moderated by koicaibs2023.symflow.com.

Due to the unexpectedly large number of participants, the 1:1 face-to-face consulting scheduled after the briefing session was changed to a 3-day video consulting session the following week.

It is a donor project with a mutually inclusive approach that addresses the poverty issues faced by low-income people (BOPs) in developing countries while providing them with employment and business opportunities. It contributes to the achievement of SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth) by identifying IBS projects that are in line with KOICA's medium-term strategy in 12 key areas of focus, including education, rural areas, and healthcare.
